Casio Exilim EX-FC100 Review by PCMag

casio-exilim-ex-fc100PcMag reviewed the Casio Exilim EX-FC100 and write, "The 9.1-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-FC100 ($349.99 list) has some cool features that no other compact point-and-shooter can offer. It can snap 30 6MP images in 1 second. And it can capture some of these before you hit the shutter release, so you'll have the image you want even if you didn't push the button in time. It can also record high-quality slow-motion video. But unless you have a specific need for its unique features, you're probably better off with another camera, since the EX-FC100 also has speed and image-quality issues...

With the Casio Exilim EX-FC100, you do get a lot of fun and unique features. It's the only camera we've seen so far that can shoot slow motion and 30-fps video and is small enough to fit in your pocket. (It will soon be joined in this exclusive category by its slimmer sibling, the EX-FS10.) But at $350, those features don't come cheap. If you don't need the added functionality, you should check out the $279.99 Canon PowerShot SD780 IS, which is smaller, is less expensive, takes better still images, and produces gorgeous HD video."

Casio Exilim EX-Z700 Review by Thinkcamera

casio-ex-z700-sp.jpegThe Casio Exilim EX-Z700 has been Reviewed by Thinkcamera where they say, 'This is going to come as no real surprise - Casio get another ThinkCamera Editor's Choice for the Z700. It does everything that the Z600 does with more pixels and a couple of new tricks. Low light shooting isn't quite as good but it's still better than 90% of the cameras we test so I'll let that one slide. Online prices go all the way up to £250 but shop hard and you should get the camera and some memory for less than £200 which makes it a great buy.' The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 received a 9/10 stars from the group.

Casio Exilim EX-Z600 Review by CNET

casio-exilim-ex-z600-sp.jpegThe group at CNET have a review on the Casio Exilim EX-Z600 where they write, 'The Casio Exilim EX-Z600 is generally responsive, with respectable start-up time regardless of whether the camera is turned on using the power button or the direct record/playback buttons. It zips along quite nicely from shot to shot, although using the flash--with the exception of the special Rapid Flash, that fires three times in a little over a second--slows the time between shots to a laggardly 4.7 seconds. But there's minimal shutter lag, and under really dark conditions, the AF locks in pretty quickly. High-speed continuous shooting is almost instantaneous, although capture is limited to three consecutive frames. For more than three images, the capture rate slows to a little less than one frame per second.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z850 Review by DCresource

casio-exilim-ex-z850-sp.jpegThe fine group at DCresource has a review on the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 where they state, 'The EX-Z850 is a compact metal camera with an 8.1 Megapixel CCD and 3X optical zoom lens. While not the smallest camera out there, it's still compact enough to go anywhere that you do.' 'The Exilim EX-Z850 has a very good movie mode. You can record video at 640 x 480 (30 frames/second) with sound until you run out of memory. That takes just 16 seconds using the built-in memory, so you'll want a decent-sized memory card for longer movies (a 1GB card holds more than 30 minutes).'

With ten megapixels, a pocket sized design and a host of features it is likely to turn a lot of heads. The picture quality is not quite top drawer, but is comfortably above average.'

  • Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 Review by Trusted Reviews

casio-exilim-ex-z1000-sp.jpegThe group at TrustedReviews has put out a review on the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 where they write, 'It takes more than just a big CCD to make a good picture. In fact above five or six megapixels lens quality and image processing are far more important. However a camera that has a good lens, a good processing engine and a huge 1/1.8-inch 10MP CCD clearly has a major advantage. The EX-Z1000 produces images that are sharper and more detailed than any other compact camera I’ve ever tried. I’ve included a 100 percent crop in the test shots.'  'Despite, and not because of, the megapixel willy-waving, the EX-Z1000 is a superb camera. It possesses first class build quality, brisk performance, outstanding image quality and an innovative and easy-to-use control system that makes it ideal for a first-time user. As to whether you really need 10 megapixels, only you can decide.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 Review by Photographyblog

casio-exilim-ex-z1000-SP1.jpg The Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 was reviewed by Photographyblog where they write, 'the casio Exilim EX-Z1000 is one of the very few compact digital cameras currently available which offers 10 megapixels. Recently 6 megapixels seems to have become the de facto standard for a lot of newer models, but Casio have decided to buck the trend and squeeze 10 megapixels onto the EX-Z1000's 1/1.8 inch sensor. Other standout features include a large 2.8 inch LCD screen, all-metal body, no less than 37 different scene modes, which should cover most situations, and Anti Shake DSP, an electronic image stabilisation system.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 Review by CNET

casio-exilim-ex-z1000-SP.jpgThe group at CNET review the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 where they say, 'Despite a very responsive shutter, the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 takes just a bit too long between shots. After a quick 1.8 seconds from power-on to first shot, the camera took 3.5 seconds between every additional shot--even though shutter lag in bright light was a minimal 0.3 second and only 0.5 second in dim light. With the onboard flash enabled, that sluggish rate ballooned to 5.1 seconds between shots. The camera's 8MB buffer isn't enough to handle the burst throughput required by 10-megapixel images, so the EX-Z1000 had poorer continuous-shooting performance than other snapshot cameras: 0.4 full-resolution frame per second. You have a variety of options that can deliver speedier burst results, however.'
